Hello Everyone!
My name is Taseen Chowdhury and I am a 6th year pharmacy student on rotations. I am currently on an elective rotation with Dr. Cesiro and I am super excited for it! I have heard great feedback from previous students who took this rotation. I am excited to have the freedom to learn about everything that interests me in the oncology world. I have been working at Cohen Children’s Medical Center as a pharmacy intern for over two years now. I also worked at CVS for over 3 years while studying at St. John’s. People always ask why I worked so much in college, but I feel that my work experience has contributed a ton in my pharmacy experience and knowledge.
Some of my interests would be playing basketball, lifting weights, my cat, playing video games, etc.
Hello, my name is Jessica and I am a 6th year pharmacy student from St. John's University. I currently work at Duane Reade as a pharmacy intern and plan to stay in the community post-graduation. I always had an interest in skincare and cosmetics, so I am excited to learn more in this rotation. In my free time, I enjoy exploring new places and restaurants, traveling, and watching shows. Upon graduation, I will probably go straight to work, but I hope to resume traveling soon after.
Hello everyone! My name is Nidhia! I am a sixth year pharmacy student who will be graduating in May 2022. I have an immense interest in the field of dermatology. I am excited to be a part of a rotation that cultivates both my love for pharmacy and skincare. I am unsure as to what my exact place in the pharmacy profession will look like which is why I intend to make the most of all my rotations, in order to discover where my true passion lies.
Thank you Tommy for meeting yesterday along with your partner Jerry at The Sweet Sap. Just like Provence in the Cote d'Azur! Great restaurant choice. Appreciate sharing your personal and career aspirations for the future.
Hello! My name is Xunpeng Li, a 6th year pharmacy student who will be graduating in September 2021. I am currently working in an independent pharmacy in Flushing, NY. In the future, I would like to stay in community and help out more patients with language barriers. Majority of the patients are from China and some Asian countries. Most patients are nice to us and are willing to stay with us. We speak Mandarin and many dialects to explain details regarding medications in daily basis. Ever since the beginning of my job in Flushing 5 years ago, like photography as a personal habit. Even though, I am not a professional photographer. I also like to drive to different places and breath the fresh air. Lastly, I enjoyed watching movies. I think an entertainment or habits contribute to a healthy career path. Movies usually demonstrate philosophy in an entertaining way, so I laughed and could learn some words of wisdom while watching.
Hello everyone, my name is Jerry Lau, and I am a P4 Pharm D. Candidate attending St. John's University. I am currently a Pharmacy Intern at Northwell Health. As a pharmacy student, I was involved in various organizations (IPhO, DIA, ASHP, AMCP, etc.) to learn about the many opportunities that a pharmacy graduate has. Post-graduation, I hope to pursue a career in the pharmaceutical industry. In my free time, I love playing basketball (working on my wicked three-pointer) and trying out the many restaurants in the NYC area. In the future, I hope to travel to many countries, and be exposed to the rich cultures that the world has to offer.
Hi, my name is Leah and I’m currently a pharmacy student, studying in Queens. I work at both CVS and NYP Queens. I’ve been at CVS for about 5 years and NYP for over a year. Outside of school and work, I like to read, dance, and sing. Ooo also, I love watching movies, I’ve learned quite a few languages just from television and entertainment. Upon graduation, I would like to get straight to work. I have always dreamed of traveling and hope to do it a lot more once I graduate.
Hello, my name is Almas Hussain and I am currently a 6th year pharmacy student at St. John’s University. I currently work at Walgreens Pharmacy as an intern. I am highly interested in the Oncology field within pharmacy. Post-graduation, I hope to further my interests within this field. What I hope to gain from this APPE is further understanding of another non-traditional side of pharmacy that I was never exposed to in my academic career. Normally, I travel 2-3 times a year, so this year has been difficult to say the least. I hope to resume my travels once this pandemic is under control.
Hello everyone! My name is Carol Bulakh and I am a sixth year pharmacy student completing my fifth rotation. I currently work at CVS pharmacy as an intern, and I have been working there for about 4 years now. I really enjoy helping people and interacting with different patients everyday. I have also experienced pharmacy practice in an independent pharmacy, which allowed me to have more one on one time with patients compared to in a chain setting. Upon graduation, I hope to stay within retail, and hopefully save enough to open my own pharmacy one day. Outside pharmacy practice, some of my other hobbies include traveling, reading books, and trying different foods!
Hello everyone! My name is Michelle Huang and it’s a pleasure to meet you all. I currently work at CVS and also have prior experience working in a managed care setting at Metroplus. After graduation, I hope to pursue a residency in ambulatory care or managed care so I can optimize my clinical knowledge from school to treat patients as best as I can. I’ve also been engaged in research at SUNY Downstate to investigate and compare prescribing patterns for acute respiratory infections between 2019 and 2020 (COVID-19), which we are hoping to publish in the upcoming months. Some of my hobbies include finding great food spots, traveling, and watching various shows. I was blessed to study abroad and was also able to go around several countries in Asia just before the pandemic that fostered my curiosity about the impact of culture and values. Nowadays, I like to ride my bike to catch the sunset and go hiking with my friends before the weather gets too cold!
