Hi! My name is Claudia Kwasiborski and I am a 2024 PharmD Candidate at St. John's University. My passion for pharmacy comes from a strong passion for healthcare and being involved in the clinical care interventions for patients. My father is a nurse, which was a very big inspiration for pursuing healthcare, however, my high school science research class brought the world of clinical pharmacy to my attention through the Northwell Health Spark! Challenge in my senior year and led me to apply to pharmacy school. Six years later, I am set to graduate and will be starting as a pharmacy resident at South Shore University Hospital, which feels very full circle.
My work experience includes 5 years at Stop and Shop Pharmacy and 2.5 years at Stony Brook University Hospital. In terms of rotations, I've had experiences in specialized clinical areas like cardiology, surgical critical care, HIV medication therapy managment, and ambulatory care. My focus is learning as much as I can beyond the didactic curriculum, especially when it comes to the impact of pharmacists in special populations.
My career interests include furthering experiences in taking care of special populations and providing meaningful impacts. I would like to complete a PGY2 residency as well and specialize in critical care, internal medicine, or cardiology- and become board certified as well.
Outside of school and work, my personal interests include spending time outdoors, reading, and working out. Additionally, I am excited to complete this rotation because skin care is a passion of mine due to my struggles with difficult acne as a teenager, which led me to do a lot of research about products, ingredients, and treatments! Skin care and self care can be considered 'hobbies' of mine as well!
